Color rendering problem - difference transparency
I see a problem how colors are rendered with CorelDraw X6 uniform difference transparency blending. The effect is very interesting for me but what I see in CorelDraw workspace is different what is expected and what I get.
Case one
White on black as exported to file
...and as seen in my CorelDraw workspace:
Nothing special here.
Second case
Red on red, as exported to file looks like:
...and here's a zoom from my CorelDraw workspace as seen on a screen:
Notice that cyans are different, even though color picker shows exactly the same color values. Strange...
Third case
Cyan on red, as exported looks like:
Nice! As expected. But on my screen it looks like:
Reds are different. Moreover cyan appears where white is expected!

Fountain fill banding issue
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this issue.
- default fountain steps set to 256
- create rectangle (longer width than height)
- fill rectangle with a fountain fill from black at 0% position and white at 50% and then white again at 100%
- transition at 50% between the two and no smoothing or any other settings
- create another rectangle but this time half as wide
- fill with a basic fountain fill from black at 0% and white at 100%
- I'd like them to look the same...
However they don't and the reason for this is due to the fountain steps being evenly spaced between the "sides of the rectangle", rather than "between colours".
This is problematic for me since if I want a black to white transition in the first 10% of the fountain, it will look really "bandy". The only way I can see of working around this issue is to create independent rectangles and fill them independently.
It would be great if there was an option to chose to have "steps between colours", in addition to the "overall steps".
(Also how do you remove a "node" on the fountain fill? you used to be able to select and delete!)

Macro to place our registration marks?
Hi,
We have certain registration marks that we use on our designs before we print to vellum.
Would someone here be able to write a macro that could do the following? I've attached an example image of where we place the registration marks and am also attaching the actual registration mark CDR file. I'm assuming this would probably be rather simple...
We'd like this registration mark to be centered to the image and placed on the top and bottom of the image at .25 inches away from the image itself. So, I would think the macro would have to select the entire image on the page, then decide where .25 inches is away from the top and bottom of the image and place the registration mark, centered in that area.
Does that make sense? LOL Hopefully my sample image will show where we would like them.

Corel.com Account Login "Unexpected error occurred. Please try again later"
Hello,
there is a problem with the corel.com account of one of my employee. If he want to login the message "Unexpected error occurred. Please try again later" comes up. Also his account can not used in his Corel Draw. So he can not download any Updates. Can someone help me.

Corel Graphics Suite 12 installed on Windows 8.1 Pro - Issues
I've recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 8.1 for security reasons (Microsoft dropping support for XP). Corel 12 installed just fine and operates almost as good as on XP. I have only two issues that I've noticed so far:
1) I have been unable to install Corel 12 Service Pack 1 and the MultiPatch. Neither will install and so I am without the benefit of the host of little fixes that solve little annoyances.
2) Some fonts are broken. This is very much like the Security Update back in that people had on Win XP and Win 7 back in '12. The difference here is that some of the installed fonts are not usable in Corel but they do work everywhere else. Obviously not the same Windows Update issue and I can find no information anywhere on how to fix it. Most of them are relatively innocuous ones that I don't really use anyway, but one is the corporate font chosen by a very important client and is used on every piece of art I have on file for them - years worth of files.
I am NOT AT ALL interested in upgrading past Corel 12 unless it is absolutely necessary in order to start using those fonts again. What I really need is a fix so that I can keep using Corel Graphics Suite 12 to my hearts content.

another X7 color fill bug?
try this. open the attached file. right-click and drag the dark grey "C" shape and hover over the light grey rectangle. now choose 'copy fill' and see what happens.

"Print this sheet now' is broken in main dialog
We have the print preview flyout active at all times in the main print dialog in Corel Draw X7. When we go to print (and this is important for us because we do a lot of imposition work) and we want to print one page out of an imposition setup - the "Print this sheet now" line is greyed out. It works if we go to the full Print Preview dialog page, but not from this flyout window. We use this shortcut feature heavily. See the image to see what I mean:

Can't use clipart from CD v3
OMG, Recently upgraded to CorelDraw x7 on Windows 7, and just discovered that my amazing treasure-trove of clipart from a way earlier CD version (3) is no longer supported and that I can't use it. HELP! Is there ANY WAY of getting around this, a fix of some sort?????

Importing AI File into CorelDraw
I often receive AI files from clients (especially logos) which I need to bring into CorelDraw. If the AI file contains tones or gradient fills or transparency, those parts would often end up differently when imported into CorelDraw.
Is it possible to make the AI file imported correctly? Maybe some workaround.

Texture Print failures
Hi there,
I am attempting to print a metal texture fill, when printed it changes colour. it is on cmyk settings, matching my printer settings. It seems to sporadically change between cmyk and rgb though, i am getting a pinkly purply hue over the top, I've tried changing the print settings and i am confident that it is not a problem with that process, however if anyone has had issues with that i would like to hear about it

Windows Preview Pane Not Displaying .cdr files
Hi,
I have been searching and searching for a fix for this. I have Windows 7 x64. The Preview pane in windows explorer will not display .cdr files. Although, thumbnails will display when I select medium or large icons.
I have read that you need the windows shell extension. I dont see that anywhere in my program and features list.
I attempted to modify my installation by selecting "utlities" and this was already selected as part of my install.
I contacted corel and they said "Get the new version!". I really dont want to shell out 500 bucks.
Any ideas? Where could I download the shell extension? I cant find it on my CD's that came with Corel.

Confusion on X7 Content
Does X7 come with seperate content? I am confused.
The 'Content' folder in the 'My Documents' folder for Corel DRAW X7 is empty. In the Connect docker (inside the program), it seems like I can still access the content from X6 (I have to reinstall the older version to use this option.)
I bought X6 about 15 days before X7 was released. I called Corel and they gave me the X7 version free of charge. But I do not recall whether or not they also gave me X7 content to install.
Does anyone have light on this? I read some stuff in my searches online that seemed to suggest X7 did away with installable content and all content is now online? Does that sound correct.
New to Corel and a bit confused on this part.

Need some advice
For some reason whenever i try to enter artistic text I now get a paragraph symbol when I click on the page. And whenever I click on an existing line of text I know see all sorts of things like periods where spaces are and on and on.
What has happened?

DO NOT EXPORT GRADIENTS AS EPS!
Please, if you have a design with gradient fills do not export out as an eps. The gradients will end up as thousands of lines as seen below. Use pdf or svg!
