Is it possible to apply a gradient to a line? I was able to create the line below using the drawing tools in MS Excel and was hoping to do the same in CorelDraw X6, however, I did not see any outline color gradient options

DRAWings 6 PRO - Imported Files
Hello,
Well this is the first time i'm working with DRAWings, im still learning how it works, but one thing i don't seem to understand is how to import files with transparent background. I've tried importing as TIFF, PNG, CMX, but it always have a background wich doesnt help me because when i select Trace - Convert to Outlines it renders the image with the background. I've seen some tutorials on YouTube but none of them explains this. How do i do it?

Drop Shadow changes in PDF file.
In my new computer i have installed windows 7 64 bit and coreldraw x6 64 bit.
but when i export pdf drop shadow changes as shown in image.
problem with pdf 1.4 and above only.

Corel Gallery clipart & viewing of cdx files
I used to use CorelDraw a number of years ago and loved it. I recently found a bunch of CDs entitled Corel Gallery which I only vaguely remember using many years ago. These 14 disk are chock full of clip art, fonts, photos, etc., and contain mostly cdx files.
Is there a cdx file viewer application that I can use to view all these clip art files with? I gather they are Corel Draw compressed images. Disk 1 comes with a setup program and I assume there's a file viewer app on there but it doesn't want to run correctly on my Windows 7 PC.

After updating to X6.3 when I open files saved in X6 (or x6.3) I lose text properties
I can open a Corel 12 file and 'update text' just fine, but when opening a file saved in X6 or even my latest version, X6.3, all the text has default properties when I open the file.
All the text reverts to size 24, black, Arial.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix for it besides uninstalling and reinstalling without updates?
I have tried using F8 to restore defaults, it didn't help.

X6/16.3 Dimension Tool, doesn't remember default settings
Experiencing problems with the dimension tool since upgrading to Corel Draw X6 at this end, which hasn't been resolved with the updates.
I work in mm. The system doesn't remember the default settings if I change my preferences for it to measure in mm via the customisation window or the toolbox as it used to in previous versions. When I open the program again or start a new document, the measurement default keeps changing back to ["] (inches). Sometimes, it will jump back to inches after I change the default to mm when I'm working on the same document.
Same problem seems to be happening with the other units of measure available as well.
Current workaround - the only time it seems to remember my settings is if I change the default to mm and then save a document.
I can fwd a video screen capture which shows the problem if that would help.

Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to get my text to go counter clockwise around an ARC.
I have been using the mirror tools with results... however the writing is not starting at the part of the eclipse I want it to, so i used binoculars to find: text commands, and have been using text placement with no luck.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
I have been reading about "Place on other side" tool which has been used to make text do this on other versions? If someone can tell me how i can download these older versions?

Adobe goes subscription only. What do you think about that?

This wasn't meant as a bash Adobe discussion, please don't take it in that direction. More of a discussion of CorelDraw and their subscription service. While I still want to buy it for my office, I'll admit that the subscription price is a good one for what you get. I see a lot of complaining(and it was only announced today!) about how adobe is handling the situation.
Personally, I'd hate to lose the option to buy the program outright. We used to skip versions, now we don't. I can't imagine how we would have gotten through some of the leaner years if all of our software was subscription only.
I can see this reducing piracy of Photoshop, maybe, but will it be a good thing for the industry? Discuss!

problem re-installing X6 "Fatal Error"
cannot re-install X6 - I originally had it on a SSD drive (G) but it played up so when it stopped again, I tried to re-install X6 on main HD (C) but am having problems (it locks at 43% and asked me to OK a button - not sure what it is for) then once completed comes back with a Fatal Error message
using Windows 7 on a year old PC (It has been running up to the faulty SSD ok)
I think there may be some remnants of the old install left that is causing problem ?

Labels on sheets other than 8.5 x 11
I use the label setup a lot, as a large part of my business is digitally printing die cut (or more precisely, kiss-cut) labels. I have more than 70 user defined layouts. Printing digitally, of course, it is always more cost effective to print on larger sheets, so I want to start printing labels on larger sheets (11x17 or 12x18) as the click charge is the same regardless of the sheet size.
My problem is, it seems the labels can only be designed on 8.5 x 11 sheets. I cannot find a way to setup a larger sheet. Does anyone know of a way to change the sheet size on user-defined labels? Is there perhaps a macro that can work around this apparent limitation?
I realize I can achieve some of the same effect with imposition layouts, but I cannot fine tune positioning this way to ensure my print lines up with the pre-cut label sheets.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Joomla 2.5 template ca_active_j25 - Default Gantry 4.1
I am a Newbie & a little out of my element… I’m 70 years old and I need this site to look good (because I was taken advantage of by a Shyster from Las Vegas who was recommended by someone I have dealt with for 15 years…so much for relationships!)
I’m hoping someone will take the time to point me in the correct direction. I need to change the color from white to something more transparent and not so stark. How do I go about changing this color? Through CSS I found a setting in color picker once to adjust the opacity in Firebug Lite, but I can’t recreate the process now. Any help well be gratefully received.

Corel X6 slows down when using Artistic text
Hi,
When we work with Artistic text, corel X6 gets slow. This is on all computers with Corel X6. If we use Corel X3 it is ok. Any reason?
When using Artistic text there is also always automatic inserted several empty lines in bottom. How to fix this?

Exporting EPS and re-importing error
Greetings!
As the topic says, this week I found out that when I am exporting a Corel Draw file to .eps and then tries to import it again everything is sort of black.
Even if i create a random box and fill it with a pms color and export / import it again it is black. At work I can open any logo or whatever that I have created in the past in eps format and it opens fine. I can download any random eps logo with pms-colors and it opens fine. But when I export it as eps it turns out black. PDF works fine.
- I tried it at home today and there I have the same issue.
- I have tried to purge the application data per instructions found in others threads.
- I have tried to install the latest Ghostscript to no avail.
What have happened and how can I fix it?

Cannot open X6.3 file containing clone object
I have just discovered after installing CorelDraw X6 update 3, that opening previous files containing cloned objects results in:
My apologies if this has been reported before.. if not, can someone verify the problem please.
I should add that this is far more than a minor irritation. We have thousands of files with cloned objects which need to be accessed and modified over the next few weeks - it will be devastating if there is no quick workaround or fix.

Problem opening certain files in X6
I just installed X6 in a new computer ( the old one crashed and burned) I had both X5 & X6 in the old computer. Just installed the X6 in the new one. Several old files created in X5 will not open in X6. When I try to open them - they crash X6. Have taken files to another computer and same happens. These files open OK in X5. I have tried 'resaving them' in X5 to V12 and opening in X6 - Crashes Corel same as before.....????

export to CGM Binary 4 does not support Bezier curves - why?
Exporting to CGM Binary 3 supports all my curves. But a recent problem with our viewer has me using Version 4.
But exporting to Version 4 Binary does not support Bezier Curves - why? I need this to work. When I export to Version 4, the Bezier curves are jagged, not smooth as they were in Version 3.
If I didn't have to use CGMs, I wouldn't. But I have to, which is the bain of my existence.
