Has anyone experienced this scenario? Client: "I'm sending you the file to print" Me: "What size should it be?" Client: "It's already sized"
So I import the file to corel and just to be sure send the client a proof with the dimensions and cost based on the size.
A rather large pdf file imports to corel X4 at 48" x 48". Turns out that it's just a raster image at 300 dpi. So I base my pricing on those dimensions. Client agrees with the price but then discovers that the file was suppose to be 8ft x 8ft. If I open the file in photoshop which is usually not my first choice, it does in fact come in at 8ft. Not sure why corel X4 only imports at 4ft. I'm guessing a file size limitation. Client doesn't understand that the pricing will now be adjusted accordingly. Insists that they gave us the file at size.
I don't understand why designers think that their files are automatically to size. I get this all the time but it's usually with jpg's. I say you should always include specific dimensions to your print service.

I am not having luck finding a website where I can offer a "contract" for artwork. I know such website exists for java, website building, and the opposite of what I want is at Fiverr.
I would like to rebrand my logo. Keep it, but I need ideas to update the 90's design to a Web 2.0 style. I don't have the pockets to hire someone, so I am looking to offer something to these online artists, just so I can get an idea of what I can do. I already know what I should be doing, and have a direction in mind, but I would like to see some ideas. And I know the CorelDraw forums are not the place to ask "give me an idea."
I do not think this forum even supports a system for the artists that use it to offer their services.
There were some patches available at one time but I'm not able to find them anymore. I have recently installed X3 on a W7 machine and have so far found everything to work fine except for an issue of half of my fonts being blank when trying to choose one from the drop down menu. Existing files with these blank fonts also come up with the fonts completely missing as if the entire set of words was deleted. Here is the list of patches that I've heard is necessary for X3 to be compatible with W7....if anyone can find these, please share!
Below is a message from an older post:
I too have CorelDraw X3 on a Windows 7 machine, in order to get the best from it you will need to visit Corel's website
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/gb/en/Content/1153321224268?pid=1208716785680
and install the following patches Service Packs and patches in this order, re-start after each:
1. CGSX3 Hot Patch1.exe
2. CGSX3SP1.msp
3. CGSX3SP2.msp
4. Font Nav Fix.msp ............. which will fix the problem with the Fonts
and then run the program in Compatibility Mode with Windows XP+SP2
My sign company purchased MR 3D-Designer VIII some time ago and we played with it for a little bit but it was very difficult to learn so we put it away. Now the idea has flared up again. Anyone using it for vehicle wraps? We've always just taken actual photos of the vehicles, scaled them as needed then trace the outline and poweclip stuff inside etc. Works very good. And by the way DO NOT USE PHOTOSHOP for the whole layout!

Hi,
I have just installed the trial version of Graphic Suite X7 with the intention of trying to create circuit diagrams as per the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuA-IPW2yVw.
The trial version does not seem to include the symbols. Can these be added or downloaded?
Problem: Retrieving pictures from a folder to resize and crop
I take pictures and download to my laptop. I then select 1 by one to resize and crop. I recorded a macro to resize and crop but can only do 1 at a time. I want to run a batch file that selects each picture and runs he resize and crop macro. I won't know the file names in advance since they will always be changing but will always be in the same folder.
I need help in figuring out how to writhe batch file.
Thank you.

Hi,
im having a problem with my corel crashing when im about to save a file. The saving process just starts ticking in the background but never finishes or i get an error message saying "program stopped working".
I do succeed sometimes with saving as a pdf, but when trying to open that file, it fails and says its corrupted.
I´ve tried reinstalling corel x6 via CD and updating to latest update but nothing works.
Any ideas?
Running Windows 7 64bit
Thanks in advance!
I was wondering how I could make all the holes for a cribbage board instead of making each one by itself. Also was wondering how to attach it to a path so they all are in groups of 5 and follow a curved path. We have a large CNC machine and I have had many people asking me to make them but I don't play so I never looked into it. I am fairly new to CorelDraw so I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out here...
Thanks
In previous version of CorelDraw (x5 and before) you could open the CDR file in notepad and look for CDR?vrsn to find out which CorelDraw version created the file.
example:
CDR9vrsn = CorelDraw 9
CDRAvrsn = CorelDraw 10
CDRBvrsn = CorelDraw 11
CDRCvrsn = CorelDraw x2 (12)
CDRDvrsn = CorelDraw x3 (13)
CDREvrsn = CorelDraw x4 (14)
CDRFvrsn = CorelDraw x5 (15)
But now in CorelDraw x6 (16) and CorelDraw x7 (17) the CDR?vrsn no longer exists in the CDR file. How do you tell what version a CDR file was created in (without the CorelDraw app) for x6 and x7 versions?
Yes, it's time to think about the next version. Please, try to be specific
I love corelDraw X7 in so many ways but!
I have yet to understand the fill tools. I don't want to have to worry about Copyrighted content and usage restrictions. I don't need or will never use 95% of the preset fills. I cannot edit the categories that do not apply to me. It is not real clear on how too actually apply the fill even though I manage to make it happen, but not without figuring it out each time. I shouldn't have to go through so many fills just to end up browsing and adding a fill each time because I cannot find my fills. Every fill that I have saved personally is gone and I am unsure where it went.
Please please please! just give me a simple bucket and a custom menu with only my personal fills. Nothing else. I have been using CorelDraw for 21 years and have never had such frustration with a tool. I work with three other designers that complain about the same thing.
Please advise.

Hi,
I'm a complete newbie and am working with a file at work. They're asking me if the color tone is right. I have no idea where to find out the color values are in the file. I see that in the lower right-hand corner has a color profile, but it says sRGB IEC61966-2.1 No RGB or CMYK color values.
Could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
hai experts, i want to know how to create this type of double line designs with same space for example please see the pics and suggest the process how to create like these designs.

Hi,
I have bought a new computer (Windows 8.1, 64 bit) and upgraded from X6 to X7.
I have a Roland wide format printer and use Roland Versaworks RIP software.
Windows, Versaworks and CorelDraw are up to date.
I also use the Roland Color System Library Palette in CorelDraw.
When i export a file as an .eps and open that file in Versaworks it recognises that Roland Color Library colours are there but they don't print correctly. Grey looks brown for example.
I'm sure there's a setting somewhere i need to change somewhere in CorelDraw?
Any help, much appreciated.
I am using the File Converter in Corel x6 to make a multi page document save as separate files. However, I want them to save as .pdf converted to curves versus how it saves now as another corel file. I either want to update the File Converter to accomplish that for me (ideal) or have a separate macro that runs through hundreds of corel files and saves them as a pdf.
I know nothing about this stuff. If someone knows how to do this, can you also please tell me how to even save it as a macro. Thank you!
Every time I export to PDF, I cannot view the PDF until I close that tab in CorelDraw, is there any way to tell CorelDraw to release it so I can view the PDF with the tab open like in previous versions.
