Black separates into cmyk four colours in pdf prepress CDR X5

Im having hassles with a document that is created in 100%K and with a greyscale bitmap, when I publish to pdf prepress native, the black is separated into four colours and the greyscale bitmap also turns into cmyk. When I import the pdf back into corel the colour is still correct 100%K and greyscale, but the printshop I send the document to as well as another reprohouse receives the file with black changed into four colours and the greyscale bitmap is turned into cmyk. I tested another document using pdf prepress cmyk  and the repro house also received the document with the black changed into four colours cmyk. This is not the first time I have this problem, I had the same problem a year ago and since then have been using pdf x1a to publish my documents for printing. However, when publishing to pdf.X1a the greyscale bitmap becomes lighter and I understood from my printshop that pdf x1a is not a good type of pdf to use for printing?

Is there a solution for this?

B-Spline

I purchased CorelDraw X7 in good faith in earlier in the year

B-Spline does not work as it did in X5 & X6

Following issues must get resolved or I for one will never purchase any upgrade again

1. Using the V key (depressed) creates a tight node this works but in X7 the keyboard depressed tone is on all the time, so cannot have the volume on (does not do this in X6 or X5)

 

2. when drawing with B-Spline if you hit the Enter key the line should end at the last node, does not work in X7

(Does work in X5 & X6)

 

3. while drawing a line with B-Spline hitting the ESC key should ESCAPE, meaning the line ends and is deleted. Does not work in X7

 

I am not looking for workarounds i have been given plenty of these, i want the software to work correctly

i had reported this straightaway and now i cannot contact support without extending my warranty

I don't mind not being able to ask technical question about how something work, but i am a little pissed that i cannot complain the software does not work correctly

No wonder lots of my friends use alternative software

PLEASE, PLEASE Corel fix the issue.

anyone who knows my work, I do it all pretty much with the B-Spline tool, so X7 for me is about as useful as a Tea pot made out of Chocolate

How to remove the warning about zoom?

Corel draw X7 shows the warning: «This zoom has exceeded the boundaries of the drawing space. Your window will be adjusted accordingly.»

It happening everytime, when i'm scrolling with mouse wheel. Is anybody knows, how to remove it?

Corel Draw X7 License - SCCM 2007 Deployment

Hi,

We have a SCCM 2007 environment and need to deploy CDx7.

We need to deploy the software and allow the user to request a license key from the department that handles licensing.  Is it possible to perform a silent installation without a license key.  The user will then request the license after they open the program?  I have read through the CDx7 network deployment document and found nothing there as well as on Google.

Any help or ideas are welcomed.

I don't have a code snippet to show but I'd like to make one.

How can I slipstream a macro installation with a workspace file so everything is done at one?

You know...the icon/buttons are installed automatically after the gms files are extracted to the proper path.

CorelDraw X7 Saving issues

just upgraded to corel x7 and I keep getting this message every time I save manually.  

*.cdr was modified by another user since you opened the file.  To prevent losing your changes, please save the file with a new name (File>Save As). 

I don't want to keep saving files with a different name every time I manually save.  Any ideas how to fix?  Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Where can I post bugs and issues of CorelDRAW X7?

Hi community,

after I've updated my Corel X7 to version 7.1 I figured out that some well-known bugs are still in the code…since Corel version X3!

I think the time has come to eliminate these little beasts for ever because they doesn't fit to a professional graphic application like CorelDRAW X7!

But I don't know how can I report these bugs to Corel. Please could anybody give me an answer to this elementary question?!

insert page number - how does it work?

what makes thist feature so special?  I currently use it to number my pages but I'd like to know what's going on in the background that makes the text 'smart' in that it knows when a page is added or removed.  I also know it creates artistic text with a name "Page Number" and sets to a master layer on all pages.

Still some issues in Corel X7 after update…

I've updated my Corel X7 version to 7.1 and I figured out that some issues in X7

are still not solved:

1.)  It is not possible to change the colour components direct in the colour filling window. Every input I do in the CMYK-colour-boxes via keyboard is obviously not registered by CorelDRAW. When the colour filling window closes it self after the input of the new colour value the value of the colour component of the object has not changed. At present the only way to change the colour values is to use the sliders to the right of the colour component boxes. 

2.) Sometimes I recognize a strange display issue: a page in a document of several pages is selected but not the selected page is displayed but another one. In the most cases the first page of the document is displayed while another one is actual selected by me. This display issue appears sometimes after I was saving a working progress of the document I work with. To get the right page displayed I have to click another one and then I can get back to the page I really want to see…

3.) Another display issue appears sometimes while I'm working with objects or text frames: the selection points of the selected object are still displayed after I was clicking with the selection tool on another object or in the empty expanse of the document to unselect the selected object. The same issue is with text frames. I unselect the selected text frame at the same discribed ways but these little points of reference at the corners of the glyphs are still displayed. To erase these wrong displayed selection points I have to zoom in our out. These issue is a little irritating and disturbs the orientation in complex documents…

It would be very nice if Corel could fix these issues with the next update because the discribed issues do not fit to a professional graphic application!

VBA Macro - Paste to Mouse Click

I once heard about a VBA macro existing that would allow you to copy an object to the clip board, then activate this macro, and then everywhere you clicked the mouse it would paste 'said' object.

 

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

 

Appreciate any help that you can give.

Export to Web...file permissions. Ug.

Been using CD and as a web developer I tend to use Export to Web a lot.  I export directly to my web site.

I really dislike how the export works.  Even though my OS has inherited permissions on, CD (Draw and Paint both) always set permissions without the "User" permissions.  My inherited parent has "User" on it, but CD must explicitly only do a few permissions.  This is a pain since I then have to manually to to File|Properties in Explorer and re-add the "User" permission for my website (readonly).

X6 and X7 both work this way.

If anyone has a way around this, would love to hear it.

possible to align object to path?

Is it possible to align an object to a path like you do with text? I have a chevron (zigzag) pattern which I have created as an object that I would like to make into an arch. Is there a way to fit it to an arch/circle like you do with text to make arched text? thanks.

Interactive Transp

I have CorelDraw 11 and use the Interactive Transparantcey Tool.

And it works and I can go to the Top of the screen and even set the Transparancy Level.

But on my Object itself is a Slider and if I move it to the right it looks like my Object can be more see throught. But the Transparancy Number in the settings box never changes.

So I do not know or understand what this is can anyone help?

New to site but have been using corel for years,  I bought X5 NEW in 2007, have the box .CD Serial etc, When X6 came out I started getting messages that my X5 was not legit,  & corel shut it down on me, finally got thru to support & they figured out it was indeed a real legit program, Now after getting requests to buy X7, it;s happening again, being told they will shut it down & be read only,,, Any body else have this problem, The only answer i have been able to get was to buy X7 at a  lower price, I feel like I am being shook  Down, Any ideas on how to talk to a real human to get answers, Don't know how to fix this,

VB Script Find Layer Name

Hi.

I am attempting to write a VB script that exports the drawing when certain layers are present within the drawing file. The layer names are "Make No Waves" and "Speed Value". How do I write a VB script that searches for multiple layers? I have attempted to use Layers.Find but this appears to search only one layer at a time. I have also tried Layer.Name but I am unable to get the syntax correct. I get "Object Required" error. I do not know what this error means. My attempt with Layer.Name is:

Set ActivePage = .Pages.First

     With ActivePage.Layers

          If Layer.Name("Make No Waves") Then

               MsgBox "Make No Waves Layer is Present", vbOKOnly

          Else

               MsgBox "Make No Waves Layer is Absent", vbOKOnly

          End If

     End With
