Add even spacing between circles that are in the form of a shape

I'm new to the forum and this is my first post.

I create rhinestone templates for use on t-shirts. Sometime I have to change a design to fit a particular rhinestone size. That means that the size of all the circles in the design must be changed. I found a great macro that allows me to do this--Thanks Macro Community. 

Now I have another dilemma. When the circle sizes are changed, they either crowd the others (if I make them bigger) or are too far apart (if I make them smaller). What I'd like to do is change the spacing between the circles without losing the shape of my design. 

I bought the GDG SpaceMaster macro, but can't seem to make this work with it.

Any suggestions?

Corel X5 freezes Windows 7 64 bits

Hi

I'm new here.

I have Corel X5 + Service Pack runing on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits.

Yesterday, I was using Corel Draw X5 as usual. It works fine always. Turn off PC and went to sleep.

Today, when I try to open Corel Draw, Windows 7 freezes completely. I have to hit the "reset" button.

It also happens with PhotoPaint.

I went to Windows Control Panel to launch repair Corel. But when installer starts, Windows freezes. "Reset" again.

So, I try with the original installer of Corel X5. Same thing. Installer starts and Windows 7 freezes.

So, problem isn't only the installed Corel but also the original installer too.

I guess the some Corel's executable is "calling" something that freeze windows. But, what is it? This "thing" must be common to all Corel software since Corel Draw, Photopaint, repair Corel and the original installer, all freeze windows 7.

Is there any way to "debug" when I run Corel Draw or the installer, to see what is it calling?

It means "How uninstall Corel manually". But I don't think the problem is Corel itself, because as I said, Windows freeze with any Corel program, even the original installer that is stored in other partition. So, I don't think to uninstall it will help.

Besides, I can't run the installer. So if I uninstall Corel, I can't install again.

Just in case, I didn't make changes in my machine yesterday. No new software, last Windows update is October 14,2010 (KB2160841) and until yesterday October 20 it worked fine; didn't change any windows config.

Long time Corel user X5 stability, same as X6, X7

I have used Corel for over 10 years, my first version being Draw 2 (not x2,etc).

 

I don't use the software a lot, as many pros have it in the list of applications to call on when need be, so I update and upgrade every 2 or more years. I last upgraded I think 2 years ago to X5.  So far I have been crashing each time I use it. Craching, meaning the CorelDraw screen /app freezes. The OS is fine, as other apps. But even closing other apps and trying to see if anything in TaskManager helps, but no luck
!

I'm using Windows 7 Ult/32/64bit. The CorelDraw app says there are no updates to install....

So, do I just upgrade my CS3 as I mainly use it for page layout, not much illustration, But I liked Corel for a long time in its file format compatibility.  But certainly willing to change coarse if stability is a issue, and right now, I have taken at least an hour to sign on here and gather my thoughts to help resolve this. If there is a patch, why isn't the app routed to it via the hHelp tabs?

 

Well, either way, I reach out to the Corel community for some help to resolve this as I need to get the job done, and if I need to purchase something to get it done, it wont be Corel. I say this with reservation in my mind as I have been a long time users, but I think they have a split in the company of what to do as far as going cloud and alienating all the users they have, or staying as licensed user software.  I just need to make a brochure today.

Install of X7 to Win7 Ult/64-32bit

I selected only Draw to install with some util and without Paint, Font Nav, and other apps.

It stopped at 61% saying it is looking for ShellExt.msi.

Ughhh!

 

What to do? I searched for such a file and its uncompressed under program data, I select it, and it gives me more BS...

"ShellExt.msi is not a valid install package for product Corel...Windows Shell extension. Try to find the install ShellExt.msi in a folder from which you can install Corel Graphics-Windows Shell Ext.

WTFlop!!

Object Length

Is it possible to get the length of a letter in Corel X7.

what I mean by length is, the whole outline of the letter.

I also have Corel X5 if anyone can do it on that version.

CorelDraw X7.1 bugs

What is going to be done about the reported bugs after X7.1 update?

 

some bugs as follows:

1. some custom shortcut keys may not work

2. scale tool freezes program

3.  creates bigger pdf files compared to X4.  a 8MB file made with X4 will inflate to 19MB using the same settings.

4.  some text will be converted to curves (still looking into whether I can get around this)

5. publish pdf settings take long to open (happens when using an X4 file)

6.?

X7 print driver crashes

Hi,

I'm using X7 64bit and the print driver crashes regularly, and the print preview often doesn't work. Printing after converting to .pdf is fine, but I'm at my wits end. X6 prints fine.

Feature requests should really have a different process...

Not sure if this a official Corel forum thing or if it's just a fan site and we are griping/spitting into the wind at times.

Anyhow...

The way features are requested isn't that effective in a forum/post type setup.  If you look at PlayStation 4 they have feature requests/wish lists site where people in the community requests features and it gets up voted or down voted.  

1. This clearly would show what features/functions are wanted by the community, so Corel would easily see what's important, and possibly work on it.

2. It would show other users what's requested so they can refrain from creating another post requesting the same feature.

3. Make it a available only for registered Corel owners.

Copy a toolbar?

Is there a way to copy a custom made toolbar from one computer to another without messing up the second users other customizations? I have created a toolbar that I want to have available for other users to use, but if i export the workspace from my computer, and import it, they will have my customizations rather than theirs. Any thoughts?

I have to re-load macros on startup

Let me first start off by explaining what I am trying to accomplish (maybe someone has some better way to go about accomplishing what I want.) At our business we have several different materials, and thicknesses that we cut. As the customers place their order online, our server automates their letters and fonts that they want cut, along with a pattern fill color depending on what material, and what thickness they use, and then that order is saved in it's file. 

There are plenty of times for one reason or another that we have to manually apply the correct pattern fill for the order using the fill tool->pattern fill->full color-> and then selecting the correct pattern fill from the list. It gets tiresome pretty quickly after doing it several times, and from time to time the created pattern fills will no longer be in their user profile. So for a while we searched for a way for have a "pattern palette"  similar to the color palette, with patterns saved in one location on our network.

The best way we have found to accomplish this is by making a macro to pull the pattern fill from the network, and apply it to the shape or letter. Then We have changed the icon for the button to run the macro to resemble the pattern, and created a separate toolbar to hold those, thus creating our "pattern palette"

So after all that, here is the main problem I am looking for a solution for. I have created a separate macro project, with the macros saved in it. (circled in the image below.)

Everything works great until i close coreldraw, and then re-open it. Once that happens, the project is no longer available. (as shown below)

I can then go and re-load the project, and everything works fine again. I just don't want to have to do that all the time, and train all of our other users how to load the macros, and where they are located, etc etc.. It seems like there has to be a way to have it always load.

Any suggestions that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that I am pretty new to the world of macros, and could have VERY easily missed something simple. And like i said, if anyone has any ideas of a better/simpler way to accomplish the fill task, that would be great as well.

How to open X7 files on XP/Vista?

I have been given a .cdr version 17 made with X7.

I hadn't worked with CorelDRAW before, but this was an important project so I downloaded the X6 trial, since X7 is not supported on XP/Vista, spent a day and a half only to find that X6 can't open X7 files, that there are no converters that work with v17 .cdr files, and that basically there is no way in hell I'm going to get this file to open.  

Is there any way I can convert this file to .svg, .pdf, .eps, .psd... anything!!  Or any way to open it in X6?

I want to draw a long wave line by Freehand tool by one click but continuously.

it means I press mouse button and drag line and move it to left and right side for draw a long wave line.

but i cant draw it because i reach to end of page and do not resume page.

I need a infinity page by freehand and dragging...

Macro Help! Place name of colors in document in list

Hi everyone,

We have an existing macro that places 2 registration marks either vertically or horizontally depending on our choice.

We would love to be able to add to this existing macro and have it do the following.

I've attached an example cdr file showing the exact font name, font size and attributes that the name would have to be. The font listing the name of the color would have to actually be changed to the color that it is referring to and set to Overprint. That way, when we print out our separations, the color name will print out on the same separation plate as the color it's referring to. Please look at the attached cdr file to see what I am talking about.

I'm also attaching our existing registration macro for you to view and see if something like this function could be added to this macro.

So, to sum up our needs.... activate our registration macro, it will place 2 registration marks either vertically or horizontally as it currently does, but after that (or before, which ever is easier) it will find the color name of each color used in the document, place that name in the font style/name as seen in the attched cdr file, list those color names in a stack, one name on top of the other which each color name being set to overprint and the fill of each color name, being set to the exact color it's referring to.

I am sorry if my description is making this harder to understand. LOL I am trying to be thorough in explaining what we need and I hope I'm not making it too confusing for everyone.

Strange object position behavior

This has been happening for a long time, since X3 at least (currently using X6).  If I select an object and then click and drag the numbers in the object position box then type in a new value, sometimes the object moves, sometimes it doesn't.  I don't see any pattern to when it works or not.  Sometimes the new value stays sometimes it doesn't.  If it stays and the object didn't move then I can just click in the box and press enter then the object moves.  It does the same thing with X and Y coordinates.

Anyone else seeing this?  Any suggestions on what's going on?

Best way to import PDFs

Hi All

In the past the best way I have found is to export from Acrobat an EPS and just import as a placeable graphic if nothing is to be done to file e.g. just scaling or turning artwork into a banner (adding eyelets, hemming etc). Then we would print the file to our RIP

However we are changing our workflow and need to export as PDFs. The current PDF exporter just saves the PDF as the low res of the EPS files I have tried changing the EPS to postscript option but that doesn't seem to work in the RIP where files are processed.

The only way that seems to work is to PRINT to Adobe PDF printer to create the PDF with the EPS. 

Anybody got any other ways that might solve

10% Color Fill

I just watched a video telling me to hold down the control key while clicking a fill color to add 10% of the color each time I click it. But when I do it I get the full 100% of the color. I'm using Coreldraw X7.

I'm using a laptop if that makes a difference. I'm wondering if my control key is somehow different.

Need some help with changing images

OK, below are some images that are in a "pig" theme. I am trying to create these same items in a cow, bumble bee, lady bug, and frog theme, but my versions look like a little kid that has never used CorelDraw made them. Can someone help me out, please? If not, I'm going to have to hire someone to do this for me, I guess.
