copying becoming very slow

Copying has become very slow recently - using Edit, right click or ketyboard shortcuts. It can take up to 10-15 seconds to copy although subsequent pasting is instantaneou. I'm not talking about complex vectors or bitmaps but very simple shapes like a small rectangle. There's nothing in View or Symbol manager and nothing has changed or been added, except a trial of Premium Membership that I declined. I've tried F8 etc to no avail.

Copying used to be pretty  rapid but has slowed dramatically. I'm experiencing no difficulties in other programs with copying.

Also Coreldraw itself has become pretty slow to load, although (except for copying) there's no other problems so it's not a big deal in itself but wondered if it's symtomatic of something else.

Any ideas?
