I have a rogue bitmap or file somewhere causing a few of my .cdr files to grow to these ridiculous sizes when in the file is simply text and a few small bitmaps. I work on advertising graphics, most of the ads small and nothing more than 300 dpi files to scale and never more than a few per ad including logos, drop shadows and other effects broke apart and flattened, etc. Most of my files I've created over the last 15 years are around 5 to 15 MB in size. All the sudden my files (and only some of them) are growing to like 400 MB and 500 MB.
I also have a few of the files create like 15 to 30 Layer 1's themselves in the Object Manager. The file might be fine one time, then I delete all these empty files and then the next time I open it they're all back. I made some changes to my computer, had a friend reload Windows 7 and reinstalled CorelDraw. Doesn't seem to make them better but I figure it's b/c they were already corrupted or containing a corrupted element.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so did you ever find a fix for it? I'd love to know b/c these large files take minutes to open and I am on tight schedules usually. They also eat up my RAM which causes me to have to restart Corel every hour or so and have to reopen these files all over again to work on them. There is no reason they should be 500 MB, probably not even 15 MB.
Thanx!!
