Old Draw Files Won't Load Into x6

I've owned three versions of Draw.  Because my last version would not install on Windows 8 I just bought x6.  I've been using Draw for a long time and I've found that very old .cdr (Draw) files will not load into x6.  Anybody know a fix for this?
