Letterpress type effect

Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial for how to create the type effect shown on this AI tutorial using Draw? http://vectips.com/tutorials/creating-editable-letterpress-styled-text/

If not, would someone be willing to explain the easiest way to do this? 

I'm using X3.
