Serious Performance Issues Corel Draw X6

Hi All - I'm New. I have an XP PC with 3 Gb. I have used a old copy of Corel Draw essentials but had issues with XP and had to upgrade to X6.

I can run Norton Internet Security, Autocad, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Cadsoft Eagle PCB and Outlook all at the same time on this PC - no problemo. Why can't I run COREL DRAW X6 all by itself?

I have cleared the PC temp directory. I have cleared all of the Colour styles. I have allocated more cache memory, all my work files are on this PC (I'm on a network but run local), I have changed my printer to be a local printer (HP1120). I have disabled compress on save.  My file is a green rectangle with the text " green box" above it. (approx 1.3Mb).

* If I try to save it takes upwards of 1 minute.

** If I try to copy an item ( green rectangle) it takes upto 1 minute.

If I switch PC off /on then open Corel Draw itself (Norton in background no other progs running), I can open and edit a larger file(1.3Mb) - more text and coloured boxes - nothing fancy, just texts and boxes -  this will work happily for about 10-20 minutes then the poor performance kicks in. I have to save & quit the program. When I reopen Corel Draw with the same file - it seems to fail quicker. The only recourse is to quit and power off on again.

Can anyone help?
