Option to increase width of Path

Hi,
I have begun to use the Path (aka Bezier) tool constantly to make
Paths, convert to Selections, and then to layers.
Unfortunately, a Path is only one pixel wide. It's virtually
invisible and hard to grab on a large image.
Thus, I request an option on the property bar to make the Path as wide
as the user wants. I would also like to see the option to pick a color for
the Path on the property bar as well as buried in the tools dialog.
